Terrence Pillay has been in media for just over 14 years. He started as a researcher working primarily on documentaries but has since worked in many other television genres.
Owner of 'Pillay Media', he has worked as director and producer for all the major broadcasters in the country - M-Net, DSTV, SABC 1, 2 and 3 and eTV and has worked on shows like Front Row, Top Billing, ConneXion, Mainly for Men, Free Spirit and E-Files. As an on-camera journalist he has done field reporting for shows like KZN2Nite (SABC2), Good Morning South Africa (SABC2), Impressions (SABC1) and Election 99 (SABC2).
Apart from producing stories for Carte Blanche, Pillay is also one of the producers on M-Net's Studio 53 - the relatively new flagship African Magazine Programme.
Pillay is also an award-winning writer for the Sunday Tribune, The Sunday Times, The Ridge Magazine and the Daily News, all print publications he regularly contributes to. In addition, he writes two weekly columns for The Mercury - 'Out of the Box' and 'Showbiz Wednesday'.
Terence Pillay is an entertaining and witty MC but, because of his wide experience in production and journalism, he adds so much more to the mix.
''He's an intrinsic part of the culture and colour of Durban and we hope he stays that way.'' House and Home Magazine
