Jo Ann mixes it up between diamonds & charities
Jo Ann Strauss has been jet setting lately and her exhausting international schedule is not slowing down.
As the guest of Montblanc at the World Watch Fair, Jo Ann sipped champagne with Eva Green, Dita von Teese, Claudia Schiffer, Joan Collins, and Germany’s top model Barbara Meier. Jo Ann was selected to wear their stunning necklace at the evening function in Geneva on 9th April. The sparkling 12 carat diamond worth five million dollars, complemented by 350 smaller diamonds, was the item of envy for most female … and one or two male, guests at the party.
From Geneva, Jo Ann jetted off to Monaco where she was MC for the fund raiser of Her Royal Highness, Princess Caroline of Hannover’s charity on the 10th May. The occasion coincided with the 45th year anniversary of AMADE Mondiale (World Association of Children’s Friends), which was launched by Princess Grace Kelly in 1963 and continues today under Princess Caroline’s patronage. http://www.amade-mondiale.org The glittering function was held in the Salle Empire at the Hotel de Paris and was attended by His Highness, Prince Albert of Monaco, millionaires and top entertainers like the famous French singers Moise and Menelik.
While in Monaco, Jo Ann travelled by helicopter and looked quite at home shopping for bargains in the tax haven of luxury yachts and the mega rich. She was able to fit her total purchases in her handbag though.
The Grand Prix in Monaco, a Top Billing shoot in France and an MC booking in Berlin are on the cards over the next few weeks.
Jet setting lifestyle aside, however, what a lot of people don’t know is that Jo Ann Strauss is an astute business woman and passionate humanitarian. She’s a director of a venture capital company and a director of the Western Cape Board of Ubuntu-Botho, a division of Sanlam. She’s heavily involved in charity work and a corporate social investment program which teaches life and career skills to disadvantaged students in grades 9 to 11. So far the program has prepared over 1200 young people for the future.
Between Top Billing productions, MC bookings, business interests and charities, it’s hard to keep up with this tiny bundle of exquisite energy. |
