While the contenders were sweating it out in a gruelling workout, Colin Moss took a break on the set of "Way of the Warrior" to celebrate his 34th birthday with the production crew.
"I feel a little bit guilty" he said "but the contestants are so motivated, I don't think they would want to break their diet anyway."
The potential warriors are on a strict diet of chicken, fish, greens and rice. Scheduled snacks consist of trail mix, nuts and apples. Mr Chong senior is in charge of the kitchen in the Muay Thai style training camp, based in a converted warehouse in Woodstock, Cape Town. When asked if the contestants ever complained about the small portions, he replied that if they did, he would reward them with extra time in the ring.
Considering he raised two champions in Quentin and Winston Chong, there's no reason to doubt him.
An exciting and original reality TV concept, the Way of the Warrior will give just sixteen out of shape men the chance to gain peak fitness and develop Muaythai fighting skills, as they compete for the title of he who best personifies the Way of the Warrior, in an authentic 13 week Muay Thai training programme, under the direction of 2 x Muay Thai World Champion Sifu Quentin "Dragon" Chong and his brother Super Fight Champion Winston
"Tiger" Chong.
The show's producer, Tamarin Kaplan said, "I am very excited to be working on a show that isn't a carbon-copy of an international format. The process so far has been really creative and we have been able to produce something truly original."
Presented by Colin Moss, Way of the Warrior is scheduled to launch on the Action Channel towards the end of February. If anything will inspire you to take charge of your life, this will! |
