Not a newcomer to South African Television, SABC 3 continuity presenter, Liezel van der Westhuizen has been working in the SA entertainment industry for many years.

Liezel is a regular Jacaranda 94.2, where her finely tuned, warm and engaging presenting skills earned her a strong following amongst the Gauteng’s radio listeners. Radio life started at Tuks FM where she became hooked on the joy of connecting with people via media. It was while she was still a student and music manager for the varsity station Tuks FM that she received a job offer from EMI Music South Africa. This led to her post grad job as International PR Manager for EMI Music. She worked with an impressive array of global music stars, including Lenny Kravitz, Atomic Kitten and Blue.

It’s no surprise that Liezel is so at ease when talking to an audience: she has a Masters Degree in Communication Management and received her Advanced Toastmaster Bronze certificate in2005. She’s so committed to the craft of public speaking that she has been teaching public speaking and communication at Kumba Bridging School as well as Abraham Kriel Childrens home as a volunteer. “I’m passionate about young South Africans being able to stand up and speak confidently and with knowledge about the issues that move them” Liezel says.

Liezel is in demand as an MC and a voiceover artist and can be heard on a number of television and radio ads.

Commitment, passion, action – that’s Liezel. And it’s no surprise that she trains five days a week and plays golf! Other sports include swimming, running, cycling, spinning and scuba-diving!  Combine this with her model-looks, it’s easy to see why she was a Top 8 finalist in the 2007 Shape magazine Sanex Cover Girl Look and voted #56 in FHM Sexiest Women in The World in 2008.

With her media background, keen intelligence, general knowledge, zest for life, easy manner and cover-girl looks, the Liezel van der Westhuizen star is on the rise!
