The Charming Izak Strauss, Kwêla Presenter

Izak Strauss was born in Bloemfontein and grew up in Kimberley in the Norhern Cape. He attended Grey College in Bloemfontein, where he achieved provincial colours in athletics and rugby.

He enrolled for the four year LLB degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 2004, but had to postpone completing his studies until 2007, as his modeling and acting careers took off.

A lead role in the Afrikaans soap “Villa Rosa” on Kyknet forced a move to Johannesburg for a year in 2006. Since then, he has had  two small roles in international films and starred in the SA production of “Andries.”

In April 2008 Izak and Elana Afrika became the two new fieldpresenters of the popular Magazine program “Kwêla” on Kyknet. Izak is currently senior presenter on “Kwêla”.

His Modeling portfolio includes Allianz International, Levi, OMV Petrol and various German sports and home designer catalogues.

As an entrepreneur, Izak is involved in real estate and started his own guesthouse in the Stellenbosch area in March 2008. He is a partner and “New Business Director” of Comfort Stay Hotels and Accommodation, a leading hospitality and accommodation company based in Cape Town.

Hobbies include reading, sports and Bonsai gardening.
