A typical Scorpio – dynamic, driven, motivated and slightly mysterious.
As one of our hardest working small screen stars, Fezile Mpela is well known across South Africa. His versatility as an actor, as well as his fluency in all the South African languages, has won him starring roles in more dramas and daily soaps than any other South African actor. We’ve seen him in Soul City, Generations, Sewende laan, Song vir for Katryn, Molofish, Isidingo, Mzansi, Friends indeed, The Hidden City, Kelebone, Sleurstroom, Secret in my Bosom and many … many more.
When his post matric studies were cut short after the death of his mother, he did not give up on his dreams. MNet got so tired of his constant reminders that they needed a black presenter that they finally gave him the job as South Africa’s first. He soon proved his point and became a household name, with a meteoric rise to top presenting and acting jobs. He was the South African presenter of the BBBC show “Ready Steady Cook.” He presented the popular home ownership show “On Site” on TV2.
Other presenting jobs include the MNet Book Awards, the “Rock Down Africa music show,” The All Africa Film Awards, the SAMAS and the Loerie Awards. He also hosted the 2005 Khomanani HIV/ AIDS Day, anchoring a five hour television show and proving his ability to relate to people across all barriers.
His love of the stage has him returning at least once a year to perform in live theatre. |
