Doug Bird is  an exciting upcoming talent whose diverse talents make him an asset to just about any production – and he’s HOT, even out of sweat pants.

He’s a businessman but his TV hosting and modelling career really took off when he was placed third in the Mens Health Look competition in 2006. He was placed second in the Top Billing Presenter search the following year.

Doug is an annual favourite in the Hansa Powerade Dusi. He also co-hosted the 2008 live TV broadcasts from the river bank every afternoon and was MC for the event final. As his presenting skills were recognised, he was offered a 12 event voiceover contract with ATV Productions, screened on Super Sport from  January to December.

He hosted the television production of the 2008 Pick ‘n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival and co-presented The Virgin Active Indoor Triathlon series.

His MC experiences spans major sporting and corporate events, including Stand Out Fashion week Natal and the grand club opening of the new flagship Virgin Active Gym in Claremont Capetown. 

Doug grew up in Richmond, Natal Midlands and has a diploma in International Marketing from IMM. He’s  a highly qualified Personal Trainer and has coached the Junior National Canoeing Sprint Squad.

He represented South Africa from 1998 to 2002 in the disciplines of White Water, Sprints and Marathon canoeing. He was crowned All Africa Champion in 2001 and  awarded Natal and Protia colours.
