Fluent in French and English, Christopher Bongo hails from the Democratic Republic of Congo. He has been living in Johannesburg since 1991 and is a naturalized South African. He studied Chemical Engineering at Wits University and has a Marketing Communication Diploma (IMM).
He’s a former professional football player and the well known Football analyst on both SABC and SKY Sports channels. He also Produces the African football show and is a former TV Africa Sport Anchor. Apart from sports broadcasting, Christopher is an original member of the African Music Channel O, which he presented for 5 years.
His face is instantly recognizable to the general public as he has starred in so many local and international screen commercials.
Christopher is a Member of the ABN Francophone and regularly travels the continent as a speaker. He owns a media company and is contracted as the FIFA marketing & communications consultant worldwide. His work for FIFA includes travelling around Africa, facilitating FIFA workshops in marketing and branding skills.
As an MC he has hosted some of the most prestigious events, including The African Film Awards, World Against Racism, African Film Association gala dinner in Cannes, the Kora All African Music Awards, the Globacom CAF Awards in Togo, the Globacom Launch in Benin, CAF Awards in Nigeria, CAF Awards in Ghana and various Fifa events around the world, including the First FIFA World Press Day in Cape Town 2010 and the Presidential Dinner in 2010.
Christopher was Guest Speaker for the FIFA Marketing & Communication conference in Port of Prince (Haiti) in 2009. He conducted the FIFA Marketing & Communication Workshop in Addis Ababa in 2011 and delivered the keynote address to the AU conference on “State of Football broadcasting on the continent.” He’s involved in ongoing Marketing & Communication workshops for FIFA on the African continent and is a popular facilitator of Self Marketing & Communication skills workshops. |
